Amazing Faith at a Dinner for...Science????

The boys are in bed and the dog is asleep at my feet and I'm just relaxing into my book, sinking deep into the pillows on the sofa, when I remember that something amazing happened at a dinner I attended with my husband.

It was a dinner for engineers, honoring engineers, and honoring one engineer particularly accomplished in his field of specialty. Very fancy. And very informative. You can't even imagine the types of chips these people are designing and their impact on the future of our strides in medicine, health management, and patient recovery. This room was filled with 400 of the most brilliant wireless chip design engineers in the country - maybe even the world. Amazingly brilliant.

When the particular engineer was about to be given the award for which the dinner was being held...the award for all his hard work - I don't know how many - countless - patents, leading research teams, publishing papers, and generally a lot of hard brilliant work, the engineer's boss stood up to give an introduction and speech before calling the engineer on stage.

His introduction was to name the top contributing factors that made this particular engineer so successful. I expected to hear about the long hours he put it, the millions of college degrees he had. What do you think he said? I'll tell you.

In the middle of this big fancy dinner, in a room of incredible scholars, scientists, and engineers; his boss got up and said the 2 top things that made this man so successful was that he fasted and prayed.

Simply Amazing!
